IPB Go To Open Source

    Kabar Gembira buat pecinta Free and Open Source Software (FOSS)!!!!!!!!!! Akhirnya setelah sekian lama bekerja sama dengan Microsoft melalui program IMCA nya IPB kini mengikuti langkah ITB, UI, dan UGM yang telah lebih dahulu menggunakan Open Source. Kabarnya dalam waktu dekat ini IPB kita tercinta akan memperkenalkan Open Source di Kampus kita. IPB bekerjasama dengan kementrian RISTEK akan melaksanakan program ini dalam waktu dekat ini.

Memang sudah seharusnya IPB mengembangkan Open Source ini, karena selain menghemat biaya lisensi yang mahal, IPB kita tercinta ini juga dapat lebih mengembangkan diri dengan menggunakan FOSS, karena sifat FOSS yang terbuka dan mudah untuk dikembangkan. Hal ini akan membuat paradigma di IPB menjadi lebih mandiri dalam mengembangkan aplikasi-aplikasi yang  sesuai dengan kebutuhan Institusi.

Program ini saya nilai cukup positif, mengingat keadaan keuangan IPB saat ini sudah sangat berat dengan segala tanggungan yang  ada (kan dari pada beli lisensi Microsoft yang mahal, mending uangnya bisa untuk naikin bandwith di IPB…..he3x). Apa pendapat temen2 sekalian tentang hal ini????
